Comment Policy

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably know that I aim to promote learning and welcome a sense of community. If you’re newer to my audience, welcome! The guidelines below are designed to keep this blog a place for positive, constructive, and friendly discussion and communication.

The rules are simple:

Be kind.

Be respectful.

Criticism of my posts or blog in general is welcome, but must be constructive. That is, it must be meant to help me write and teach better, not to simply insult me or what I’ve created.

Finally, I reserve the right to remove comments that promote misleading information. If it promotes unscientific practices or sources, it doesn’t belong here.

Just comment in good faith, and we should be good.

From day one of managing this blog, I’ve chosen a free-for-all commenting arena where comments are automatically approved. I feel that approach best fits the aim of Science at Your Doorstep. Your comments will still appear publicly immediately after you submit them.

If I catch a comment in violation of this policy, I’ll remove it as soon as I have time.

(That includes all unkind or disrespectful comments—including any meant to take the initial offender down a peg. If you leave one of these…yes, you’re probably right. Yes, I’ll probably silently applaud you, appreciate you, and even screenshot your comment for posterity. No, that doesn’t help your comment positively contribute to the intended atmosphere of this blog, either. Before your comment is taken down, just know that I probably agree with you.)

But otherwise…just keep it up, people 🙂 I love each and every one of my readers and I can’t thank you all enough for helping me make the Science at Your Doorstep project everything that I imagine it to be. You are all amazing and I love all of your interactions on my blog. Thanks for all of your support!
