A Quick Appreciation…

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank you all…

When I first started this blog I had excitement but no ambition. Both are valuable in the blogosphere, but I learned in those early days that excitement can get you far…and regular posting!

In just a year, my monthly views climbed up to 900. And then I sort of lost interest…and that number fell off. Slowly, gradually, it sunk down until I stopped posting altogether. In recent months, I’ve had as little as 3 views altogether.

This month I got back into the swing of things. I had a goal to post every day this month, which I managed, more or less. And I had a vague goal of getting at least 68 views, which I’d gotten last month.

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what happened instead.

I wanted to get back up towards 900 views eventually, yes. In fact, I’m aiming much higher than that—Bill Nye the Science Guy certainly has a larger audience than mine! But I thought it would take months. Maybe a whole year. Maybe more.

In just one month of daily posting, I have more monthly views than I’ve had in over two years.

That’s thanks to you. Because it takes two to make a view. I have to post something for you to read, and you…well…you have to read it.

And boy, have you all read stuff. In the past, I’ve had posts that got no views, and I settled for it. This month, every one of my posts has had at least 1 view. The majority have over 9, and several of the more popular ones have around 20.

That’s more than I could have ever hoped for in this short time. So thank you.

I hope to keep chugging out posts you want to read in the future!

About Emma

I'm a college student, astronomer, writer, Democrat, global warming activist, hardcore trekkie, daring adventuress, and dreamer. I have four blogs to date. The primary one is Science at Your Doorstep, but I also post to The Sojourns of Star Trek, Common Sense Politics (US), and Toleventures. I guest post to A Momma's View. I write for different reasons. Sometimes because I want to share my process of discovery with others. Sometimes because I think a story is too incredible to keep it to myself. Sometimes just because I want to be heard. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it!
